In 2002 it so happened that I was asked to design some ‘medieval’
objects for the Dutch movie “Floris”, thus becoming a Prop
Designer. With great pleasure I worked for this film, but soon enough
I realized that my influence was too limited to leave my mark on this
production.
There and then the idea came up to put new life into the classic “Gijsbrecht
van Amstel”, with this difference that the future script would
be faithful to my ideas and insights, without irrelevant commercially
inspired extra’s. No surprise, this concept is still being developed,
not without help from befriended historians, scientists and museum employees
